To Be Less Stressful 8 Things Improve Life Satisfaction

September 29, 2026•4 min read

Stress is something each of us experiences and managing stress is highly personalized.

There’s no formula for dealing with stress and the ramifications for failing to mitigate stress are well documented.

Research from Ohio State University has shown that persistent, long-term stress can impact our genes, leading to increased inflammation and a myriad of health complications.

It’s unrealistic to expect completely removing stress from our lives, but we can nullify the effects of stress by employing some lifestyle changes that make an enormous difference.

The cumulative effects of stress cause major problems, so regulating stress becomes imperative as part of a daily health regime designed to improve life satisfaction.

Many people gravitate toward dangerous methods as an alternative for alleviating stress. However, these solutions often lead to addiction or merely obviate our problems with simple remedies that have lasting implications.

To take control of stress and comfortably cope with the unpleasant side effects of being human, we need a plan that features healthy solutions to control emotional volatility.

TO BE LESS STRESSFUL 8 THINGS HELP IMPROVE LIFE SATISFACTION:

01. NATURE

Natural sunlight in limited doses is amazing for our skin and boosts serotonin production. Long walks are a part of my daily routine, and my trips in nature are therapeutic, energizing, and humbling. Make nature pivotal in your daily wellness practice and derive the benefits of resetting your emotional balance.

02. MOVE AND EAT WELL

I truly believe exercise is the best way to reduce stress. I have made intense workouts a part of my routine since age 15! Energize our body with positive endorphins, improve sleep, crush negative thoughts, and improve focus with daily exercise and proper diet.

03. ROUTINE AND HEALTHY HABITS

Start developing healthy habits and guard your time wisely. Establish routines each day that make mental and physical health top priority and honor those commitments diligently. Habits are great, routine is even better. Get in the habit of embracing daily routines that make health essential and deep work mandatory. It’s a great stress reducer.

04. GET CREATIVE AND FOCUS ON SOLUTIONS

Learning to focus on solutions instead of obsessing over the obstacles is a great way to keep our energy flowing in a positive direction. Being creative, using our hands, playing music, and allowing innovation to percolate will keep us preoccupied with forward progress and less time feeling overwhelmed.

05. SPIRITUALITY

All the research shows that having a spiritual connection makes life better. People with a strong spiritual bond enjoy more life satisfaction and less stress. Offer your fear, anxiety, and pain up to something bigger than yourself and watch your stress evaporate as the humility and grace of feeling love, gratitude, and acceptance.

06. MEDITATE DON'T RUMINATE

The practice of mindfulness is incredibly powerful, and so is the art of letting go. Many people spend exorbitant amounts of time ruminating about the past. It’s unhealthy and expends unnecessary energy. Guided imagery is the practice of visualizing a positive place where you allow yourself to be present and soak up your blessings. Research from the University of Los Angeles shows this activity reduces the stress hormone cortisol in the body.

07. RELAX AND RECHARGE

Take time for yourself and reward yourself with simple pleasures that elevate happiness and reduce stress. Read, take a bath, sit in a room with scented candles. The point, taking time to relax and recharge is essential.

08. PRACTICE GRATITUDE

Numerous studies have shown the benefits of being grateful. While monitoring brain behavior, research at the National Institute of Health revealed people experienced higher levels of activity in the hypothalamus. That’s the portion of the brain that influences stress. Acts of kindness and expressions of gratitude also release spurts of dopamine, which is one of our feel-good neurotransmitters.
